The Wellspring Program
Category: Unitarian Universalism - General
Jess and Philocrites, two Unitarian Universalist bloggers, suggested I would like the Wellspring website, as it also covers spiritual issues from a Unitarian Universalist perspective. They were right! And I think you, dear seekers, will enjoy it too.
Wellspring: Inspiration and Guidance for a Spiritual Journey is produced by a group of Unitarian Universalists from the First Unitarian Church of Rochester, New York. Using the Wellspring curriculum designed by their associate minister (Rev. Jen Crow), these congregants have made a commitment to “daily spiritual practice,” “small group meetings every other week,” as well as spiritual direction. (For more information about the curriculum, click here).
Their blog includes reflections from program participants on a variety of spiritual issues. The posts are very well-written. And they are short! You can read them in a few minutes and spend the rest of the day reflecting on them.
Here are a few highlights:
Whole-hearted, by Libby Moore
Moore offers a Mother’s Day reflection on having given her daughter up for adoption.
Are You a Writer?
The author explores “writing as a spiritual practice.”
How to Close the Door, by Joy Collins
Collins describes the difficulties of saying goodbye to people that have been an important part of one’s spiritual life.
