Religious Cartoons

It has been snowing/raining for twenty-four hours here, against an obscenely gloomy sky. As a friend of mine said today, “When you hear ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ playing at the CVS, it’s like the song is arguing with you. Trying to convince you that it’s the most wonderful time of the year, when in fact it is freezing and dark.”
So for all you readers “up North,” I offer a resource for lightening the mood (get it? hahahaha):
The Cartoon Blog, by Dave Walker, features daily comics and commentary, usually related to religion.
Here are a few of my recent favorites from the Cartoon Blog:
The Religious Bookshop - I’ve never been in a religious bookstore (unless you count the old Harvard Divinity School bookstore, which has sadly closed), but I found this comic quite funny.
Climate Change - A liberal cartoon on the controversy over gay bishops.
Advent Cartoon - Ok, it’s an exaggeration, but definitely made me laugh.

Hmm…you know, what you’re right! I have been to a religious bookstore. I’ve been to the UUA bookstore at least two or three times. And I visited Lakewood in Houston and went into the store there. Both of those bookstores are inside larger organizations (the UUA bookstore is several rooms off the main lobby of the UUA, and the store at Lakewood is part of the larger church building), but they still count.

Yeah, I thought of it again when I stomped through the slush to get to the grocery store today, only to be greeted with cheerful piped-in carols. I think I bought enough food to stay inside until New Years :wink:
