Recent Prayers from Unitarian Universalists
Category: Uncategorized
Several Unitarian Universalist bloggers have posted prayers, or reflections about prayer, in recent weeks. Reading these, you can see the diversity and depth of Unitarian Universalist prayer practices.
Elizabeth, at Elizabeth’s Little Blog, shares a prayer she wrote for a women’s group and then modified for wider use. Elizabeth’s prayer is attuned to pastoral concerns as well as gender justice issues.
Rev. James Ford, at Monkey Mind, reflects on the use of a Buddhist rosary in his personal practice, and directs readers to more information about prayer beads. (The previous Looking for Faith post mentioned Unitarian Universalist Buddhists. Rev. Ford is an excellent resource for those of you would like more information about practicing both traditions, and he is very approachable.)
Shadow of Diogenes has written a prayer asking for comfort from God in a “time of doubt and worry.”
Mom to the Left describes herself as a Unitarian Universalist and a liberal Christian. She has written about revitalizing her prayer practice during Lent.
