Blog Updates

If you read this blog regularly, you may have noticed that I love to “futz” with the theme and information architecture. All of these changes are to make the blog easier to read and use. Usually these are minor changes, but I’ve made several recently, and so I think it is time to lay out what some of the changes are, in case you are wondering “what happened?!”

First, the “Welcome” post is now on the top sidebar, rather sticky at the top of the posts. This way, when you visit the site, you will also see the most recent post at the top.

Second, I’ve replaced the “Continue reading this post” link at the bottom of each post with a link for comments. This puts the comments link in a place where it is easy to find.

Third, I’ve added some buttons under the title which will allow you to mark pages on Digg, StumbleUpon and Delicious.

Fourth, there is now a Code of Conduct for the site.

Fifth, the URL’s are now based on the title of the posts, to make it easier for search engines to identify content.

Sixth, I’ve made some changes to the 404 Template (which appears when someone types an incorrect or broken link), to make it easier for folks to find what they are looking for on the site.

I hope these changes will make this blog easier to read and to share with others. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions, or feedback on the changes that have been made so far.
